What this draft covers
This page describes the current behavior of the Vaak product as of October 12, 2026. It is a factual draft for users, customers, and reviewers who need to understand what data the product uses today.
Vaak is a communication training platform with signed-in learner accounts, organization membership, assignable learning journeys, voice coaching sessions, AI-assisted practice, and usage reporting.
Data you provide directly
Your account identity comes from the sign-in provider. Inside Vaak you may also add a chosen display name, job title, company, onboarding answers, notes, bookmarks, interview-prep material, reflections, and assistant-chat context.
If you belong to an organization, owners, admins, and managers can also see your membership details according to your role and privacy settings.
Voice coaching and session data
During live voice coaching or AI conversation practice, audio is streamed for transcription, coaching, and report generation. The current product copy states that recordings are not stored.
Vaak does store session artifacts generated from that live interaction, such as transcripts, hints, bookmarks, metrics, reports, and completion state for the signed-in learner.
Organization and progress data
If you join an organization, Vaak stores your membership, assigned journeys, lesson completions, and journey progress. Owners, admins, and managers can view learner progress only when the learner allows progress sharing.
When progress sharing is turned off, manager-only progress views are redacted or omitted rather than showing the learner's detailed progress.
AI usage and cost records
Vaak records usage and cost events for AI features such as analysis, live hints, assistant interactions, and speech playback. These records include token counts, purpose, session context, and internal model identifiers used for billing and quota enforcement.
User-facing summaries show totals by activity and date rather than raw model names.
Your controls and deletion
In Settings → Privacy, you can control whether organization managers may see your progress and whether they may send you nudges.
The same settings area now includes self-data deletion for your learner data and usage history. Deletion is blocked until you end live voice sessions and transfer or remove any organization ownership that would otherwise leave shared data without an owner.
